The West Seattle Yacht Club (WSYC) was chartered March 15, 1963 by a small group of boating enthusiasts with Commodore Ray Radar and Vice-Commodore Bill Johnson at the helm. Their initial vision for the club which still holds true today is to provide a safe and fun boating haven for all by encouraging organized family cruising; establishing good-will; and for advocating safe cruising practices throughout the Pacific Northwest waters. But most of all...we just like to have FUN!

The West Seattle Yacht Club is comprised of a friendly group of people of all ages who like to get together for fun-filled activities and have a good time both on AND off the water. From holiday cruises and potluck dinners to Stag Cruises and Doe Runs, there is something for everyone. That's why most club members spend June, July, and August enjoying planned club cruises and various activities around the Puget Sound.

Celebrating its 47th anniversary in 2010, the WSYC, a non-profit organization, has grown over the years and continues to prosper as a small but enthusiastic and dedicated boating club. Advantages of small club membership include more affordable dues and the ability to truly get to know ALL your fellow members on a personal level.

Membership in the club is not exclusive to West Seattle residents, although West Seattle Yacht Club is a member of the West Seattle Chamber of Commmerce and contributes to a number of West Seattle charities. We welcome everyone, regardless of residency, boat type or size or boat ownership. The only pre-requisite is the enjoyment of power or sail boating and the desire to meet new people and to make lasting friendships. WSYC prides itself as being a small close knit family group who care about each other, fellow boaters, and the Puget Sound waterways.

The yacht club meets once each month (Sept - May) at 7 pm at the Alki Masonic Lodge located at 4736 40th Ave SW.
